Lexar 2GB jumpdrive crashed my computer?

I record music on my laptop which isn't ever connected to the internet, I was saving my work to a Lexar 2GB memory right out of the packaging. I opened up the installed application Secure It II just to see what it was any my computer blue screened and re-booted.
